Description
Casa Colvale is built on a high bank overlooking the Chapora River. From the top, it provides fantastic views over the river and the jungle beyond, and down below it merges with the river through a superbly designed decking area where guests take their meals. The food is craftily devised, such as serving freshly caught seafood grilled on the BBQ or sumptuously prepared tandoori curries.
There are two levels to Casa Colvale, an upper level with five bedrooms and a lower villa with seven bedrooms. Each of the rooms has its own style and nuances, utilising handmade fabrics and local artwork to instil a contemporary and trendy feel. All rooms have private sit outs or terraces overlooking the river.
With two pools, there are plenty of areas to kick back and relax away from the madding crowds that often blight the coastal areas. With time and space at your disposal, you can easily take a gander to a number of quiet off the beaten track beaches which are only a 20-minute drive away, which in our opinion is far better than being tied to a particular stretch of beach. You can even head down river on the hotel’s own speedboat, or even try your hand at kayaking on the river. The hotel also has a spa, and can arrange Indian cookery courses.
In short, we absolutely adore Casa Colvale; it’s location away from the coast is its winning formula, offering the chance to relax in a stunning tropical location.
