From the moment the private plane touches down in a clearing opposite the resort, Soneva Kiri feels like a tropical, hidden retreat, blending into its surroundings. Soneva Kiri’s 29 oversized pool villas are set along the white sand beachfront or hillside with outstanding views out to sea. The spacious and simple, yet sophisticated villas all blend perfectly with the beautiful, rustic environment.

Dining at Soneva Kiri is an integral ingredient in the whole experience of your stay at this beautiful property and includes menus created by a Three Michelin Star chef and authentic Thai cuisine. Whether it is a romantic meal for two, an unforgettable treetop dining experience or a private cooking class with a master chef, you can be sure that the settings will be as memorable and exceptional as the food itself.

Central to the Soneva experience are the resort hosts and each Villa comes with personal Mr and Ms Friday who provide the very best anticipative service in typical Thai tradition. They take enormous pleasure from making each visit a memorable one and will do everything they can to ensure that you leave with nothing but happy memories.

Launched in October 2013, Scott Dunn and Soneva Kiri have an exciting childcare partnership offering dedicated and expert programmes for children of all ages, from 12 months to teenagers. The Intrepid Explorers club, managed by Scott Dunn UK qualified childcare experts and supported by local child carers, is based in the Eco Den, a revolutionary kids area that appears to hang over the forest canopy. Staff are vetted and trained to the highest standards with the necessary expertise in their chosen field to provide an exciting and innovative programme of on-site and off-site activities, ensuring your little ones have a truly adventurous holiday. Your children will make new friends, learn new skills and explore the local culture, allowing you to truly relax during your stay.

Further activities include nature excursions and water activities, as well as a state-of-the-art observatory and Cinema Paradiso, showing classic movies under the stars. There is also a luxurious Spa, offering a refreshing menu of holistic and traditional treatments.


Soneva Kiri has 29 villas and suites. Whatever room you choose, they are all exceptionally spacious with outdoor bathrooms, large decks with outdoor dining and lounging areas, infinity swimming pools and have the comforts of espresso machines, Wifi, iPod docking stations, Bose sound systems, DVDs and an electric golf buggy for your personal use.


From October 2013 Scott Dunn have introduced the Intrepid Explorers children's club at Soneva Kiri for children from 12 months. At Soneva Kiri, parents can relax in the safe knowledge that their little ones are having a fabulous time, looked after by qualified and inspiring professionals.

Activities will reflect Soneva Kiri's SLOW LIFE (Sustainable-Local-Organic-Wellness Learning-Inspiring-Fun-Experiences) philosophy, and include water and land based sports, cookery and chocolate making, fishing, island excursions and a host of activities based on science, crafts, local culture and sustainability to enable children to understand Soneva's unique approach to tourism.

The Eco Den, for children under 5 is a fantastic space with a dedicated sleep room, kitchen and a large open plan play area. The Intrepid Explorers children’s club operating from its base in the Eco Den is open 10.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days per week, with a lunch break between 1.00pm - 2.00pm. Evening activities will be subject to demand. Babysitting services are also available.

The Den, for children aged 5 to 12 is built like a tree house in the shape of a stingray, featuring a wide range of creative experiences for your children to keep them entertained indoors.


Soneva Kiri's dining experiences are unique, from dining in a tree pod with service on a zip wire to the wood fired tandoori ovens on the beach to fine dining, an ice-cream parlour and chocolate room. There is also a library, wine cellar, outdoor cinema, main swimming pool, children's club, tennis and fitness centre. The Spa has 11 unique double treatment rooms offering treatments, activities, workshops and lifestyle programmes all in a fabulously serene setting with stunning views.


Activities at Soneva Kiri are extensive with non-motorised and motorised watersports, fully equipped PADI dive and training centre, fishing, cooking classes, astronomy classes, local excursions and overnight trips to Angkor Wat.


A private eight-seater Cessna Grand Caravan plane transfers guests from Bangkok to Soneva Kiri and includes access to the exclusive first-class lounge at Bangkok airport. In addition, all Villas have a personal Mr or Ms Friday butler service.

When to travel

The best time for a visit to Koh Kood is between beginning of November and the end of February, when it is relatively cool, dry and mostly sunny. Even during monsoon season, Koh Kood is worth visiting for it doesn't rain every day and all day long.

Soneva Kiri is located on Koh Kood, a remote island situated in the east coast of Thailand. Koh Kood is located at the very end of the Thai eastern maritime territory bordering Cambodia. Covering 105 square kilometers, it is the second biggest island of the province of Trat, after Koh Chang.

How to get there

11 hour international flight to Bangkok. Flights from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport to Soneva Kiri Airport takes 60 minutes by private plane, and from there it is just 2 kilometres by speed boat to the resort’s arrival pier.
