Chiva Som is set in seven acres of beachside land in the seaside resort of Hua Hin. International consultants in the fields of health and leisure from England and France created Chiva Som, which translates as “Haven of Life”, as a health and wellness retreat. On arrival guests are given a health and wellness consultation where short and long term needs are addressed and appropriate activities are recommended whether it is for stress relief, weight reduction, physiotherapy or a general detoxification.
At the heart of Chiva Som is the ultra-modern spa with an impressive array of facilities: 21 treatment rooms, face and body massages, scrubs, wraps, reflexology, aromatherapy, body reshaping and toning treatments. There is also a hydrotherapy suite with computerized spa massage baths, a unique floatation chamber for de-stressing, and colon hydrotherapy.
Delicious fresh spa cuisine is served to complement wellness activities and the traditional Thai style rooms are all elegantly designed and furnished with high quality Thai silks and many have spectacular views of the Gulf of Thailand.

Accommodation
Chiva Som has 58 stylish rooms and suites, all with TVs and DVD players and all suites have a private butler service. The Ocean View Rooms are in the central building and have a balcony overlooking the pool and beach beyond, the Thai Pavilions rooms are grouped together and three rooms share a terrace and outdoor sala. There are various Suites in the central building all with additional indoor and outdoor living space.

Children under 16 are not accepted at Chiva Som.

Chiva Som has 2 restaurants specialising in healthy food, much of it organically produced on site and 3 daily spa meals are included in your stay. The Taste of Siam restaurant does offer food and drinks for those not on such a strict meal plan. There is a library, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, yoga, pilates, Tai Chi and many more fitness classes, fully equipped gym, holistic medicine, water sports, 70 treatment rooms, kinesis studio and watsu pool.

When to travel
Hua Hin has a tropical climate with high humidity and occasional rain. It is typically pleasant, and can be enjoyed all year round. Generally, the best time of the year to visit Hua Hin is in the cool season from November to February, but for those who like it hot, then the hot season is from March to May (temperature gets up into the higher 30s). The rainy season (although it doesn't rain every day) is from June to October with September being the rainiest of all. The rain in Thailand usually comes in short sharp bursts. It doesn't usually drizzle for long periods of time.
