Located to the north of Thailand's beautiful island of Koh Phangan, Anantara Rasananda is in a picturesque setting on the pristine white sand beach of Tong Nai Pan Noi. The island is well known for its party culture, but while enjoying the peaceful surrounds of Anantara Rasananda you could be forgiven for thinking you were the first to discover this tropical paradise.
There are 44 spacious and contemporary Thai villas and suites, all beautifully appointed and all with private plunge pools. Some villas are located right on the beach with amazing sea views whilst others are located behind and are more private.
Anantara Rasananda has a lovely spa located amidst the jungle, a beachfront restaurant offers meals in a romantic setting and a great pool is located at the heart of the property, complete with pool bar offering thirst-quenching cocktails. The surrounding area, largely catering for backpackers, also offers alternative casual dining and shopping options.
Accommodation
Rasananda's 44 Villas and Suites, all have indoor and outdoor living areas with private pools, espresso machines, Apple TVs, DVDs/CDs and iPod docking stations so every modern comfort has been considered. Decor is modern Thai with wooden floors and brightly coloured accents. The seven different rooms types are dotted around the resort, some connected, some freestanding, some split level, with the ultimate being the Ocean Pool Villa set alone right on the beachfront with an open-air bathroom.
Childcare
Children are welcome at Rasananda but there are no specific facilities here for children and their families except for babysitting.
Facilities
Rsananda's beachfront restaurant serves modern fusion food in an idyllic setting but meals can also be taken in your villa or in a private romantic beachfront location. There is a champagne and wine lounge for those who appreciate the finer things in life. The spa has an extensive range of indulgent therapies as well as a steam cave and there is also a gym, yoga pavilion and library.
Activities
Watersports available from Rasananda include diving, snorkelling and kayaking and elephant treks, jungle treks and island excursions are all great excursions on Koh Phangan.
When to travel
Koh Phangan has a tropical climate and the best time to visit is from February to September, which is relatively dry but there is some rain every month. February to April are the driest months. October to January are wet with the monsoon coming from the northeast across the Gulf of Thailand.

Anantara Rasananda is located on the beach in the north of Ko Phangan, close to Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach.
How to get there
11-hour international flight to Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight. The nearest international airport is Koh Samui Airport, located on Koh Samui, a 30-minute speedboat ride from Koh Phangan. Your host will greet you at Koh Samui Airport and from there escort you to the beach facility in Bangrak for your journey to Phangan. The trip across the channel only takes 30-minutes and will land you right in front of Anantara Rasananda.
