The Four Seasons Resort is situated in one of the most idyllic settings in Asia. Two thirds of Langkawi's tropical and mountainous landscape is covered in rainforest and the hotel's setting on a brilliant white sandy beach overlooks a sparkling turquoise sea.
The hotel is a village of pavilions, pools and beautifully landscaped gardens that blend contemporary architecture with excellent service. Pavilions are either on an upper or lower level and those on the lower level have the addition of a private outdoor terrazzo soaking tub for two set in their own private landscaped garden. The pavilions on the upper level have a spacious verandah with dining area and daybed. Gorgeous freestanding Beach Villas feature a private plunge pool, al fresco dining area and a smaller bedroom for two children or private spa treatment room complete with two massage beds. The two bedroom villa which is prefect for families has its own 22 metre lap pool and ample space both inside and out.

Accommodation
The 91 Melaleuca Pavilions and Beach Villas are nestled in the tropical gardens or are set on the beach overlooking the Andaman Sea. Features include timber floors, high ceilings, open air verandas and contemporary comfort blending Asian and Arab influences. All of the lower pavilions and some of the villas have outdoor terrazzo soaking tubs for two and all rooms are equipped with CD & DVD players, high speed broadband and ipod docking stations. Beach Villas have a spa area and Family Beach Villas have a small second bedroom that is connected to the main bedroom and is ideal for children.
Childcare
On site children's activities include mangrove swamp visits, drawing, kite making, singing, storytelling and beach activities. The supervised 'Kids For All Seasons' programme is complimentary daily Kids Club and for 4-12 year olds. It is mainly based in the children's centre but uses the entire resort as its playground. There is also a family pool, children's yoga, children's menus and babysitting is available. Please note that at the 2 bedroom villa, extras for children are provided such as sandcastle making kits and beach toys.
Facilities
There are 3 restaurants with a range of International cuisines and atmospheres as well as in-room dining. The Rhu Bar serves snack and drinks. There is a complimentary kid's club, windsurfing, sailing, kayaks, snorkelling, cycling, fully equipped gym, tennis court, 2 swimming pools and a library. The Spa is a tranquil retreat with 6 spa pavilions, yoga and meditation. In addition, the Beach Villas each have a couples spa pavilion for treatments.

When to travel
Langkawi boasts a warm, tropical climate with its driest months ranging from November to April. Afternoon showers are not uncommon being a tropical island but temperatures never really go below 30 degrees.
