Vientiane

Busy and hectic in comparison to the rest of the country, Vientiane is still quiet compared with any other city in Asia. As of all Laos’ major cities, Vientiane is situated on the Mekong River, which forms the lifeline of the country. There’s a real mix of cultures here, with French colonial architecture sitting next to gilded temples, and freshly-baked French bread served next to shops selling noodle soup.
