Nearby you will find a rustic living and dining room and adjacent is the cliff-top bar overlooking the sea. Just uphill and overlooking the full length of Nihiwatu beach is a swimming pool area where you can lose yourself in the views for hours on end. Children are very welcome at Nihiwatu and those with a sense of adventure will absolutely love all that a stay at Nihiwatu can offer but there are no specific child related facilities. However Nihiwatu pride themselves on personalised service so children will be extremely well looked after.

Meals are taken communally at Nihiwatu in the rustic dining room or private dinners can be enjoyed at the various outdoor pavilions and vegetables are mainly organically grown on the island. There is also a dramatic cliff top bar and living room for guests to enjoy. The Jungle Spa has wonderful massage and body treatments and the Boathouse has a whole host of watersports activities on offer. There is also a swimming pool.
Activities
All of Nihiwatu's guests receive a complimentary full body massage and village tour. Additional activities include scuba diving, surfing lessons, fishing, horse riding, yoga, meditation, trekking and a weekly cooking course.
When to travel
Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – wet and dry – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Indonesia at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.

How to get there
Fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali and have a chance to explore as you stay overnight, then take a connecting flight in the morning to Tambolaka airport on Sumba Island. From there, a 90-minute drive through the magnificent countryside brings you to Nihiwatu.
