  • The Banyan Tree is Bintan's only all-villa resort and is exclusive, romantic and in a spectacular setting

Description

The Banyan Tree is located on the Indonesian island of Bintan where beautiful bays are dotted with coconut trees backed by ancient forest. The island is a convenient 45 minute ferry ride from Singapore and yet a world apart from the hustle and bustle of one of Asia's busiest crossroads.

The 61 villas are modelled on traditional Balinese architecture with dark woods and elegant furnishings, all hidden amongst the dense vegetation of the lush tropical rainforest. The resort’s Jacuzzi Villas have jacuzzis built into their sundecks whilst the Pool Villas have their own swimming pools and private dining areas.

When not dining in the luxurious surroundings of your villa, enjoy the contemporary Thai and Indonesian cuisine at Saffron or al fresco Mediterranean flavours on the deck at The Cove or a private dinner dramatically set up on the rocks by the ocean. The culinary choices are abundant at the Banyan Tree with a wide variety of cuisine and settings to suit your mood.

The hotel has numerous facilities including two pools, tennis courts, golf, a good selection of water sports and a fantastic world famous spa.

Guide price £1,950 per person

£1,950 pr person for 7 nights, based on two people sharing a jacuzzi Valley Villa on a Bed and Breakfast basis including British Airways international flights and private transfers.

Families are made really welcome at The Banyan Tree Bintan. Children (3-10yrs) are invited during the week to join the Kids Club at the neighbouring sister resort, Angsana where there are plenty of fun supervised games and activities to keep them busy and in villa babysitting is also available.

Facilities

5 bars and restaurants provide a wealth of settings, atmosphere and culinary choice from around the globe and in villa dining is also available. The Banyan Tree is well known for its extensive holistic spa and fabulous 18 hole Laguna Bintan golf course. The Marine Centre has a beachside pool, rock edge swimming pool, two tennis courts, an all terrain vehicle for jungle trekking and a host of motorised and non motorised watersports are available.

Activities

Tennis, golf and extensive watersports are all available on site and the resort's Nature Lab are happy to give complimentary bird watching and nature walks to share with the guests the conservation work they are undertaking.

When to travel

Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – wet and dry – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Indonesia at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.
