Description

The Ubud Hanging Gardens is just a 20 minute drive from Ubud town, yet the scenery here is far more dramatic, with steep hillside drops to the Ayung River and overgrown tropical forest sprawling onto the road - you could be miles from anywhere here.

Ubud Hanging Gardens comprises a collection of Balinese pool villas built in the style of a traditional village perched on a hillside in the heart of the lush green countryside. There are absolutely spectacular views from your private pool, which appears to hang off the edge. A unique funicular is embedded amongst the rice terraces permitting access to the villas and the facilities.

Terraced into the hillside, the Ubud Hanging Gardens' restaurants and bars draw you closer to the breathtaking natural surrounds of the hotel and serve exceptional dishes with French, Asian and Mediterranean influences. Champagne breakfasts, picnics and romantic private dinners can also be arranged and cooking classes are available for those wanting to learn the chef's secrets to Balinese delicacies.

When to travel

Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – dry (between May to September) and wet (between October to April) – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Bali at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.
