Central China

The beauty of China lies in it’s diversity, both in the population and in the landscape. Central China has a vast spectrum of sights: Guilin and Yangshou are scenic rural areas bordered by a dramatic backdrop of the towering limestone pinnacles, called karsts, that the area is famous for; and history is in abundance in Xian, a city enclosed behind an ancient wall. Just outside of Xian is the incredible Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi, who first united China in 200 BC. He was buried along with over 6000 life size Terracotta Warriors, horses and chariots to protect him as he moved into the next life. Many other tombs from the Han and Tang Dynasties are still to be excavated.
