Description

For over 75 years, a visit to the ancient Angkor temples has been synonymous, to many, with a stay at Raffles. Now carefully restored, the hotel’s renewed elegance, modernity and location makes it one of the most popular places to stay in Siem Reap.

The rooms and suites at Raffles Grand Hotel D'Angkor have been meticulously restored to their former glory, with many of the original features such as the 1930s Art Deco furnishings and claw-footed baths retained and enhanced. The State and Landmark Rooms are meticulously designed and decorated to combine both modern and traditional influences and the spacious Cabana Suites overlook the stunning swimming pool and have four poster beds and large terraces. Unobtrusive Raffles butlers are on hand round the clock to ensure that you have everything you could possibly need.

Dining at Raffles is an experience in itself - enjoy a relaxed al fresco barbeque, a formal fine dining experience or even a cultural show and buffet - options abound and the indulgent in-room dining available is also a great way to enjoy a peaceful, private dinner. The hotel's Elephant Bar is not to be missed - its signature cocktail being an exotic mix of rum with the tropical flavours of coconuts, bananas, pineapple and lime.

For relaxation, the Raffles Amrita Spa combines Western technologies and Eastern therapies and is equipped with 5 private massage rooms, a state of the art gym and jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms. A highlight of the hotel is the stunning thirty-five meter lap pool in the hotel’s inner gardens.

Accommodation

Raffles Grand Hotel D'Angkor has 119 Rooms and Suites. The State Rooms in the hotel's new wing provide a comfortable balance of modernity and classical elegance with views over the lush gardens or pool. Landmark Rooms are in the main building and are art deco-inspired with memorabilia and artefacts reminiscent of the Golden Age of Travel adorning the rooms - wooden floors, four poster beds and marble bathrooms make these rooms truly decadent. Studio Suites are perfect for those who want to feel at home - with desk areas, pantries and superior stereo systems, they feel spacious and homely. The four Personality Suites have private balconies and have been decorated in association with well known luminaries associated with the hotel. The Cabana Suites are truly unique - surrounding the pool these suites have two bathrooms, four poster beds and generously sized private terraces overlooking the pool and lush tropical gardens. Spacious poolside 2-bedroom villas are also available, located in the inner gardens, with full pantry facilities, a private wine cellar and a butler service.

When to travel

Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
