Colonia and Carmelo

Carmelo, located on the banks of the Río de la Plata and just a short hop from Buenos Aires, is one of the most iconic cities in the Colonia region. It’s also within a stone’s throw of Colonia del Sacramento, a registered UNESCO world heritage site. The area’s remarkably preserved architecture displays more than three centuries of Portuguese, Spanish and Uruguayan history.
