Description

The Private Collection Cuzco is a recent addition to Peru’s Casa Andina Hotels, a leading hotel chain in the Andean region. Its cosy lobby and fireplace, three beautiful interior courtyards, and helpful and hospitable staff create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is sure to enhance guests’ stay in Cuzco.

Located in the old, colonial part of Cuzco, the Casa Andina Private Collection sits directly in front of the Limacpampa square and is only three blocks from Cuzco’s main square, the Plaza de Armas. The hotel has a fantastic gourmet restaurant serving dishes made with delicious local produce, including many ingredients from the Sacred Valley.

Accommodation

Accommodation at the Casa Andina Private Collection is made up of 94 guest rooms, divided into 80 Superior Rooms (24m2), 13 Suites (48m2) and one Imperial Suite (61m2). The warmly decorated rooms surround 3 colonial-style courtyards with wooden balconies. The Superior Rooms have 2 full size or 1 King bed, the Suites have a Super-King bed and living/work area, whilst the Imperial Suite has a Super-King bed and separate living area. All rooms feature cable tv, WiFi, heater and bathtub.

Childcare

Children are welcome at the Casa Andina Private Collection Cuzco. The spacious outdoor areas make it a good choice for those with children and connecting rooms are available for families.

Facilities

The Casa Andina Private Collection Puno has a gourmet restaurant furnished with candelabras, wrought-iron chandeliers and colonial paintings. The innovative New Andean cuisine features many locally-inspired specialities using produce from the Sacred Valley, including yuca, quinoa and Andean trout. There are also tables for dining al-fresco in the courtyard, a lounge-reading room with fireplace, a colonial-style bar, internet centre and gift shop.

Activities

The Casa Andina Private Collection Cuzco is ideally located for exploring the colonial city of Cuzco, with its impressive Plaza de Armas, beautiful cathedral and a wealth of churches, museums, handicraft shops and cosy restaurants and bars. It is also possible to arrange excursions to nearby archaeological sites such as Sacsayhuaman and Ollantaytambo and of course Machu Picchu, although ideally an overnight stay is recommended here.

When to travel

Cuzco’s location and altitude result in only two seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season typically lasts from November to March, with the heaviest rains arriving in January and February. The best time to visit Cuzco and the surrounding area is during April-October.

How to get there

16-hour flight from London to Lima, via Madrid or Miami, followed by a 1-hour 15-minute domestic flight to Cuzco (overnight in Lima usually required).
