Termas de Chillan ski resort is located at an altitude of 4900 feet, nestled in the Andes Mountains. There are 29 groomed runs amongst 10,000 acres of terrain, which is cloaked in snow and pristine forest.
There is plenty of off-piste action as well as gentle nursery slopes for beginners, snowmobiling, heliskiing, Nordic skiing, and dog-sledding, an excellent international ski school, snowboard park and a spa to relax and unwind. The Gran Hotel is notably the best hotel within the Termas de Chillan ski resort and benefits from ski-in, ski-out access. Perched on the side of a smoking volcano amid indigenous forest, with flocks of parakeets and condors riding the thermals the hotel has an enviable location at the base of the legendary Tres Marias 8 miles of piste.
The Gran Hotel has 120 well appointed guest rooms. Facilities include two restaurants, heated common areas, ski shop, gym, squash courts, indoor and outdoor pool and at the end of the day you can ski back to the resort and sink into the resort’s volcanic hot springs.
Available from June to October, based on a “Ski-week” (7 nights: Saturday-to-Saturday) or a “Miniski-week” (4 or 3 nights: Saturday-to-Wednesday or Wednesday-to-Saturday).

Childcare
Children at Termas de Chillan are welcomed and there is a day care center for younger children. The Mountain Cub designed for children aged 6yrs to 12yrs offers excursions, games, canopy adventures, wall climbing and mountain biking. The Termas de Chillan resort offers plenty of basic and intermediate skiing which is perfect for kids and there is also a ski school.

Activities
Termas do Chillan offers fantastic skiing, snowboarding and heliskiing and boasts South America's longest run. For non-skiers there is also snowmobiling, dog-sledding, canopy adventures, canyoning, trekking, horse riding, golf, wall climbing and paintballing

How to get there
17-hour international flight to Santiago, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Concepcion and 2.5-hour road transfer. Or for a totally different and scenic journey why not take the 4-hour train journey from Santiago to Chillan and 1-hour road transfer or do a combination of the two there and back.
