Description
Casarao Amarelo is a beautiful colonial beach house, a short walk from the Centro Historico of Paraty. The property consists of four constructions with a total area of approximately 510 square metres. The delightful 17th century town of Paraty is just a five minute walk away and is very convenient without having any of the noise of staying in town on one’s doorstep.
The main house consists of 3 double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and a study. The kitchen is large and well equipped, the dining room can easily sit 10 and the sitting room is spacious and comfortable. There is a terrace which extends the length of the house which is primarily used for meals and there are hammocks and large armchairs for lounging (with overhead fans for hot days).
The sea is 8 metres from the house, down some steps from the property and it is ideal for swimming as it is very shallow. There are two kayaks available to explore the island opposite the house, or for fishing, and at low tide the beach is perfect for collecting clams from which the couple who look after you will prepare the most delicious lunch. A speed boat and yacht are available for rent by the day, or for your whole stay, and fishing trips are easily arranged locally.
There is also a guest house consisting of a large air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom, and also a sitting room with a double sofa bed, second bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The guest house terrace leads out onto the pool area.
The caretakers, Pedro and Helena, have their own house on the property, tucked into the hillside. They will be available to do the shopping and prepare your meals. There is also a concierge who speaks perfect English who will be at your disposal to arrange activities and excursions.

The hotel provides 2 kayaks and offers boat trips. Both speed boats and yachts are also available to rent to explore the coastline and nearby islands. Other activities on offer locally include fishing trips, scuba diving, snorkeling and hiking.

When to travel
October to April is the ideal time to visit. High season is generally December to April when it's warm and humid. The coastal location ensures that temperatures rarely exceed 30°C and generally do not fall below 13°C (nighttimes in July). Even in winter (June-September), when rates are lower, daytime temperatures usually reach 21°C. Rainfall is a possibility throughout the year, but January and February often experience slightly heavier showers. Christmas, New Year, January, Carnival, Easter and Paratiy's International Literary Festival (normally held in July) are high season and hotels will be busy.

A 11.5-hour flight to Guarulhos International Airport, Sao Paulo followed by a 4-hour car transfer.
