Located just a minute’s walk from the sand streets of Jericoacoara, and set directly on Malhada Beach, Chili Beach is a haven of cool contemporary style and personal service. The lush tropical grounds filled with cashew trees are home to just 6 airy suites and bungalows, two of which have an ocean view, finished with high quality linens and objets d’art.
The hotel has an excellent al-fresco Italian restaurant, plenty of relaxation and wellness areas offering massage treatments, facials and yoga, and a lovely pool area overlooking the ocean, perfect for watching the fishermen mending their nets as the sun goes down.
From July to November, Jeri (as the locals call it) is one of the best places in the world for windsurfing, kite surfing and catamaran sailing, but days can also be spent lazing on the beach, sand boarding on the dunes, horse riding, cycling and exploring the dunes by buggy. The village itself has many excellent small restaurants, cafes and bars that play soft samba music and serve endless varieties of caipirinha.
Accommodation
Chili Beach has two Sea View Suites, set right on the beach, two Park View Suites, each with a private garden, and two Bungalows, for families or more than one couple. The first Bungalow has a double room and a sitting area with two single beds, plus two bathrooms, a kitchen, private garden and porch. The other has two double rooms with bathroom and a sitting area with a single bed, plus a kitchen, garden and porch. The rooms are stylishly designed and feature lcd tvs, dvd, ipod deck and Wifi.
Childcare
The Chili Beach welcomes children and the spacious bungalows make ideal accommodation for families. Children will enjoy the pool and gardens and the soft adventure options on offer, including canoeing, boat trips and buggy rides.
Facilities
The Chili Beach is set amongst lush tropical gardens, with an outdoor swimming pool and lounge area with ocean views, and a wellness centre for some luxury pampering. The open-air restaurant is right by the beach and specialises in delicious Italian cuisine, featuring plenty of local seafood, produce from the market and homemade breads and pastries. A variety of caipirinhas, classic cocktails and fine wines are available from the bar.
Activities
Jericoarcoara is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil and this is a perfect destination for simply chilling out, strolling along the soft sands and taking dips in the ocean. For something more active guests at The Chili Beach can arrange canoe rides down the river, home to herds of sea horses, and excursions by boat, quad bike, buggy and Land Rover. Other activities on offer include riding on the beach, windsurfing, kitesurfing and Capoiera lessons.
When to travel
The temperature in Jericoacoara beach is constantly stable, rarely under 25C or over 35C. The rainy season is between February and May, and the sun shines all year round. July to November the wind is strong, which favours those wanting to Windsurfing and Kitesurfing.

How to get there
12.5-hour flight from London to Fortaleza followed by a 3.5-hour 4WD transfer, a 45-minute air taxi plus 45-minute 4WD transfer or a 1-hour heli-transfer.
