Description

Txai Resort, located next to miles of unspoilt beaches amid acres of lush tropical garden, is one Bahia's most stylish and luxurious retreats.

Built individually on stilts and surrounded by wooden decks with details in palm thatch, the bungalows at Txai have been spread around the coconut groves to ensure maximum privacy. The interiors of the bungalows mix the rustic simplicity of Bahia with maximum comfort. Some of them feature jacuzzis and private plunge pools.

The restaurant is surrounded by palms and serves many local delicacies as well as more international cuisine. There is also a fantastic hilltop spa featuring a pool with stunning ocean views and dry and humid sauna. Here a full range of massages, therapies and beauty treatments are available to heal and replenish mind, body and soul.

Given the privileged beach location, a full range of watersports are on offer but you can also go horse riding into the Atlantic rainforest or why not explore the nearby river Rio de Contas in a canoe.

Accommodation

The Txai Resort provides 40 guest rooms (14 standard and special rooms and 26 individual bungalows). All come with minibar, safe, air conditioning, king size bed and some with their own private pool. Views vary according to the classification but many afford vistas of the ocean and tropical Atlantic forest.

Childcare

Children are welcomed and kids under 6 yrs stay for free. There are extra beds, cots and babysitting services available upon request. Facilities include a shallow swimming pool and a TV/video room and there is also a kids menu in the restaurant.

Facilities

The resort features a tennis court, divine swimming pool, a fantastic hilltop spa with a full range of massages, beauty treatments and therapies and a restaurant serving mouthwatering authentic Bahian cuisine.

Activities

In and around the hotel one can enjoy the pool, beach, hill top spa, surf lessons and tennis on the resort's tennis court. Further a field, activities include canoeing and rafting along the Rio de Contas, horse riding, sailing and visits to the beautiful Supresa waterfall.

When to travel

Temperatures in Bahia vary little from month to month and it's warm all year round, with average highs hovering around 30°C. April to July is the wettest season (though it can rain at any time) and June to September bring slightly cooler evenings. Salvador goes mad during Carnival (February or March depending on the year) - more than 2 million party-goers hit the streets for a colourful riot of dancing and drinking - expect prices to hike and availability to fall dramatically.
