Description
The Sofitel is located in one of Buenos Aires’ most fashionable neighbourhoods, the Retiro, close to many of the city’s best shops, restaurants and art galleries. Built in 1929, the vision of this Neoclassical architectural masterpiece was to become the first sight on the horizon for sailors approaching Argentina’s great capital. With 20 storeys, the building stands head and shoulders above most its neighbours. Nearly three quarters of a century on, the building was converted and fully refurbished into one of Buenos Aires most luxurious and elegant hotels.
The luxury guest rooms and suites at the Sofitel Buenos Aires are decorated in soothing neutral shades with elegant Art Deco furnishings, true to the history and culture of the building itself and its surroundings. There is a renowned restaurant serving Mediterranean gourmet cuisine, an indoor pool, fitness centre and a cosy drawing room for relaxing in large leather armchairs at the end of the day while the open fire blazes.
