The Rockies
Covering Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, the Rocky Mountain States are America writ large. Here the great plains, where buffalo still roam, rise up to mountains as sublime as they come – a playground where you can give free rein to your spirit of adventure. Hit the powder at a fashionable ski resort, find your inner cowboy or cowgirl at a western ranch, go to a rodeo, and gaze up at the stars. Hike through spring meadows filled with flowers, pause to take in the views from a high mountain pass, marvel at the geysers and dizzying gorges of Yellowstone, or snuggle deeper into your blanket as a wolf begins to call. There are abandoned silver mining towns to explore and epic steam train rides, sparkling rivers to fish or raft down, and immense grasslands where you can ride all day and never see another human being. In short, the Rockies are a balm for the soul, and you haven’t really visited the States until you have experienced at least a little of this magnificent region.
