Description
Inspired by the grand palazzos of Italy, with marble floors and plush furnishing, the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes is minutes away from the main Orlando attractions, yet is a haven of peace and relaxed sophistication.
Each of the 584 rooms and suites on fifteen floors are spacious and sumptuously appointed in a classic style, and have balconies with panoramic views over the lake, pool and grounds. In-room facilities are exactly what you would expect from a 5-star hotel, and rooms on the Club Floor offer Ritz Carlton’s signature Club experience, with a club lounge providing fare throughout the day and a movie room where you can watch DVDs with the family.
The facilities at the Ritz Carlton are simply superb, and include a 40,000sq-ft spa that offers a range of indulgent treatments, and there is tennis, an 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman, a large swimming pool and an excellent Kids Club.
There are 11 restaurants in the hotel that include a grill that serves great steaks and seafood, as well as various poolside and golf clubhouse dining options.
We would recommend hiring a car while in Orlando to get to some of the parks and for exploring and going to Cape Canaveral to visit the Kennedy Space Center, but a complimentary shuttle is offered to take guests to SeaWorld, Wet ‘n’ Wild and Universal. Excursions can also be arranged into the Everglades or to go fishing.

When to travel
The Florida Keys are a year-round destination with balmy winters, but summers can be hot and humid. The best time to visit Florida is in March and April when it is warm and sunny, before the weather begins to get too hot. Hurricanes and other less serious tropical storms can strike Florida any time in the summer up to the end of November, however the risk is greatest between August and October.
