When to travel
The rainy summer season lasts from June to October, when it can be very hot and humid. The best month to visit is November, when the surrounding countryside is verdant after the summer rains. January and February is whale-watching season. Come between November and March to see nesting and hatching turtles, from December to March if you want to watch dolphins and whales, or in April to spot giant manta rays.

How to get there
11.5 hour international flight to Mexico City International Airport, followed by a 1 hour domestic flight to Puerto Vallarta International Airport. Punta Mita is a 40 minute car transfer from the airport.
