Description

El Tamarindo's 29 freestanding villas and 3 individual residences are set amidst lush tropical gardens on a beautiful nature reserve overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The villas are elegantly decorated, and feature outdoor living areas with a private plunge pool. The hotel's La Higuera restaurant serves fresh, local cuisine in an oceanfront setting. As the sun sets, torches are lit around the resort’s pathways and jetty, providing a magical setting for a romantic evening meal.

Nestled in between the forest, ravines and beaches, lays an 18-hole championship golf course, two tennis courts and spa facility. Watersports, including windsurfing, kayaking and snorkelling can all be arranged, along with trekking, horse-riding, bird watching and boat trips.

Accommodation

29 individual palapa villas and 3 four bedroom houses.

Childcare

Children of all ages are welcome at El Tamarindo. Cots, extra beds and babysitting can all be arranged on request and a children’s menu is available in the restaurant. Inflatable toys, boat tours to the mangroves and mountain bikes are offered for families.

Facilities

A highlight of El Tamarindo is the 18-hole signature golf course, designed by David Fleming, with a truly magnificent setting surrounded by lush vegetation and with spectacular views over the rocky Pacific coastline. Other facilities at El Tamarindo include a lovely curved swimming pool set overlooking the ocean, tennis courts, a fully equipped fitness centre and a spa offering all-natural products, oceanfront spa huts and an authentic Temascal. For dining the La Higuera restaurant serves Mexican-inspired cuisine featuring many fresh local products including exquisite seafood, in an al-fresco setting underneath an ancient fig tree, which at night is beautifully lit by lanterns. For something extra special it is possible to arrange a romantic candlelit dinner in-villa, on the beach or on the hotel’s private pier, with your own personal waiter and chef.

Activities

A variety of activities can be enjoyed by guests at El Tamarindo including a round of golf on the resort’s 18-hole championship course, swimming in the pool or at the beach, tennis, mountain biking, polo (Nov-Apr), bird watching, kayaking, windsurfing, snorkelling and hiking trails through the nature reserve. From December to March whale watching boat trips can be arranged in search of humpback, gray and pilot whales.
