Description

The W Hotel mirrors the trendy and funky atmosphere of the most dynamic areas in the city in every way. The hotel boasts 237 spacious contemporary rooms and suites with walk-in showers, hanging hammocks, pristine white signature beds and sumptuous cherry red walls. The modern interiors have been designed by Studio Gaia and include large leather sofas, contemporary lighting effects and floors suspended over koi ponds.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Solea, features the finest coastal seafood fused with Mexican and Asian influences. Relax and unwind in The Red Lounge or head to the sophisticated and stylish terrace bar for a late night drink. To escape the hustle and bustle of the city, immerse yourself in the relaxation pool at the Away Spa or why not kick back in the Temascal (pre-Hispanic sauna).

Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world so there is no shortage of things to do. Both the Archaeological Museum and Museum of Modern Art are within walking distance but there are also the majestic pyramids of Teotinuacan just outside the city which are a must.

When to travel

At this altitude (2240m above sea level), Mexico City rarely gets too hot therefore can be enjoyed at any time of year. The hotter months of May and June, and the rainy season (June-September), when the capital experiences a downpour most afternoons may want to be avoided. Pollution is in maximum effect in the hot, dry season of spring, from late February to early May. Busy times include the MACO Contemporary Arts Festival (April), the Pride march (late June), the Cake Festival (August) and Fashion Week (October).
