Description

Reached by an incredible torchlit tunnel carved through the mountains, Capella Pedregal is a hugely exciting addition to the luxury hotel scene on the Baja California Peninsula. Southern Baja has long been a favourite destination for Hollywood A-listers jetting down for the weekend, and Capella Pedregal now offers the glamour and personal service to keep the most demanding guests satisfied.

With a picture-postcard position overlooking the ocean, where whales and dolphins can often be seen cavorting, the resort consists of 66 luxurious and spacious rooms, all with private terrace and plunge pool, and fitted out with hand-crafted Mexican details and state-of-the-art amenities. The grounds are glorious, with palms, cactus, sculptures and huge stone vases dotting the property, as well as three beautiful pools.

Service is exemplary, with personal assistants assigned to each guest, while the food is exquisite, ranging from real Mexican food served at Don Miguel’s to the seafood restaurant El Farallon tucked into a cliff above the ocean.

When to travel

Baja California is characterized by a mild year-round climate, which makes it the perfect getaway anytime of year. Summer (April to September) brings heat and humidity coupled with the threat of hurricanes (September and October). Some restaurants also closed during these months. Winter (December to March) brings more pleasant weather and tourist crowds. This is also when the whale-watching is at its best.
