Description

The Arenal Nayara is a elegant hotel with beautifully decorated casitas and suites and incredible views of the majestic Arenal volcano. Paths wind through lush gardens filled with tropical flowers to a pool with a swim-up bar and attractive open-sided restaurant.

Every room has been designed to provide the utmost in comfort and style while maintaining a close connection with the natural surroundings. On a clear night you may be lucky to catch a glimpse of the red hot lava bubbling up from the volcano crater from your private terrace. Each casita also boasts its own secluded garden, an outdoor shower and a terrace with an intimate jacuzzi for two. The Arenal Nayara also boasts an impressive spa offering treatments using the best of Costa Rica's natural healing ingredients, from coffee scrubs to volcanic mud.

The central region of Costa Rica is one of the world’s most topographically diverse and plays host to a range of exciting outdoor activities such as white water rafting, trekking, horseback riding, hot springs, kayaking, zip wiring and canopy tours, a series of suspended bridges over the forest canopy.

When to travel

Arenal is fascinating all year round, though November to April are the best months for sunshine. December to March is high season and the whole Arenal area is inundated with tourists. The ‘Green’ season, from May to September, is a good time to visit: it’s sunny in the mornings with rain in the afternoons. It's not so good for volcano viewing though; if you want to see the lava flow, come from December to March. The quietest period is April to early June. The rain can be particularly strong in September and October.
