Description
Oxygen Jungle Villas can be found in the southern Puntarenas province between surfing hotspot Dominical and the village Ojochal, renowned for its great restaurants, in one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth. This fantastic retreat is also close to three of Costa Rica's most impressive national parks.
Oxygen Jungle Villas are a collection of just twelve individual villas built from teak and glass that are beautifully appointed and set amongst truly magical surroundings. Set into the mountainside, the airy villas are decorated in a Balinese style and come with king-size bed, DVD player, mini-bar, private verandah and true privacy, while at the main lodge there is a delightful infinity pool surrounded by Buddha statues, spa facilities, and a restaurant serving excellent organic cuisine. There are also lovely yoga and meditation spaces where you can feel at one with nature.
Other than relaxing completely, there are opportunities to surf, go snorkelling or scuba diving, or take a horseback ride along the beach. There is a series of jungle trails you can follow, and for much of the year humpback whales can be seen cavorting in the ocean.

When to travel
The summer season (November to April), also called the 'dry' season, doesn't necessarily mean no rain- but there should be less of it. The 'green' season (May to November) can still be a good time to visit- you can avoid the tourist bustle and lodging is slightly cheaper. During this time, however, rivers start to swell and dirt roads get muddy, making travel more challenging.
