Description
Chan Chich is a unique destination for eco-tourists and novices alike. The lodge has 12 thatched-roof cabanas, each of which is fully screened and fitted with queen size beds, ceiling fan and private bathroom. The guest rooms also have wrap around verandas with hammocks where guests can relax and experience the sights and sounds of the rainforest. Monkeys and countless species of birds abound in the area and can be easily spotted from the lodge, which is a true paradise for nature lovers. One may even get the chance to see an elusive jaguar in its natural habitat
The Lodge has a lovely swimming pool, Jacuzzi and miles of trails, which can be explored alone or with a guide. Other activities include night walks, drives around the estate and the plantations, horse riding, canoeing and an excursion to the Mayan site of Lamanai. After an exciting day of discovery and exploration one can relax at the Lodge with an ice-cold Belikin beer at the well-stocked bar, take a refreshing dip in the pool watching the monkeys swing by, watch the sun go down in the Jacuzzi, or just lay in your hammock, margarita in-hand.

Chan Chich offers horse riding along jungle trails, nature walks, vehicle tours, birdwatching and canoeing on Laguna Verde, a small spring-fed lake near the Gallon Jug farm.
When to travel
Belize's climate is marked by two distinct seasons, the rainy season (June to November) and the dry season (December to May). The coldest month is January and the warmest temperatures are in May.
The busier time of the year for travellers to Belize is November to May, which are the winter months of the Northern Hemisphere. It is possible to visit out-side of these months but the rainy season in the Forest Highlands can be rather wet.

Chan Chich Lodge is located on Gallon Jug Estate in north-western Belize, a 130,000 acre private nature reserve in the heart of “La Selva Maya”. Chan Chich is situated in the plaza of an ancient Maya city and surrounded by pristine forest.
How to get there
12 hour international flight (via Miami) to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City. The Lodge is reachable by a 30 minute charter flight from Belize City. Gallon Jug has its own airstrip which is a 10-15 minute drive from the Lodge
