Description
Mustique, in the heart of the Grenadines, only a short flight from Barbados, is one of the most exclusive private islands in the Caribbean. The Cotton House Hotel, carefully restored from the original 18th century coral warehouse and sugar mill, has 17 luxurious rooms, suites and cottages set in the gardens surrounding the Great House. All the tastefully furnished rooms have king size beds, separate dressing rooms and private verandas.
Its main restaurant is acclaimed throughout the Caribbean, and the wines are excellent. Private dinners can be arranged at several locations on the resort and a picnic hamper can be taken on any of the nine beaches around the island. Other facilities include a swimming pool, spa and dive shop.
Mustique’s nine white sand beaches are easily reached by golf cart – the nearest one is about 30 meters away – with sailing, snorkelling, fishing and scuba diving all readily available. Sunset cruises can be arranged with local skippers, as well as day trips to nearby islands. Like Mustique itself, the mood at the Cotton House is whimsical and relaxed.
