Description

Nestled along a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea and away from the hustle and bustle of the island lies a true St. Lucian treasure. This laid-back little village is located on the serene west coast and is simply known as "Ti Kaye", which means small house in the native Creole patois language of St. Lucia. It is a secluded, peaceful location - a perfect hideaway for those who seek complete relaxation in casual, yet beautiful surroundings.

Choose from a choice of cottages, all with private verandahs with hammocks made for two, some also have private plunge pools. They have a colourful Caribbean feel and design features are simple yet elegant. The rooms have recently been fitted with iPod docking stations but technology is not high on the priority list here which adds to the charm of the place.

The small but beautifully situated Kai Koko spa is right on the cliffs edge and enjoys breathtaking views, perfect for an indulgent treatment. It features three treatment rooms crafted out of coconut wood and offers a treatments using the natural organic ingredients the island of St. Lucia has to offer.

A rambling wooden staircase leads 166 steps down to a beautiful cove with silver sands and crystal clear waters - a haven for snorkelling, scuba diving, and water sports. The calm waters of the bay are home to St. Lucia’s popular shipwreck dive site, "Lesleen M". The Scuba Centre is located right on the shoreline and caters to everyone from beginners to the most advanced divers.

When to travel

As with most Caribbean destinations the winter season is the most popular time to visit St Lucia. The very un-winter weather brings the crowds and jacks up the prices, especially during the driest period from December to March. Winter weather is sublime with average high temperatures around 81°F (27°C). Summer is quiet and hot with the July temperatures averaging 85°F (29°C). Hurricane season falls between June and October – expect some more rain this time of year and maybe the odd storm.
