Description

A true Caribbean resort, nestled among 12 acres of lush tropical gardens, East Winds Inn is on a picture perfect beach in one of the most sheltered bays in St Lucia. St. Lucia is renowned as one of the most beautiful of the Caribbean Islands. It offers a wide contrast of landscapes ranging from one of the few remaining tropical rainforests of the region to the beautiful white and volcanic sand beaches. This is all dominated by the stunning view of the towering Pitons, the two lava cones which stand guard to St. Lucia's "walk-in" volcano, the Soufrière.

The hotel consists of 30 recently refurbished rooms and 1 “mini-suite” located in quaint well appointed single storey cottages. All rooms are elegantly furnished and feature Rivolta Carmignani linen with either king sized or twin beds.

East Winds offers a wide range of facilities including an open-air restaurant serving authentic Caribbean cuisine, a small boutique and a free-form swimming pool with its own swim-up honesty bar. Evening entertainment includes live piano music, soft-jazz and traditional St Lucia melodies.

The resort features an Activities Pavilion offering board games, table tennis, a pool table and yoga classes. There are also a wide range of complimentary water sports on offer and off-site activities at an additional cost include scuba diving, boat trips, fishing and island tours.

When to travel

As with most Caribbean destinations the winter season is the most popular time to visit St Lucia. The very un-winter weather brings the crowds and jacks up the prices, especially during the driest period from December to March. Winter weather is sublime with average high temperatures around 81°F (27°C). Summer is quiet and hot with the July temperatures averaging 85°F (29°C). Hurricane season falls between June and October – expect some more rain this time of year and maybe the odd storm.
