Description

La Banane is a wonderful secret just a few metres from Lorient Bay set amid a sumptuous tropical garden bursting with Poinciana, hibiscus, frangipani, jasmine and bougainvillea. The hotel design is a combination of contemporary and local architecture with elegant and harmonious tones, subtly spiced with Creole colours.

There are nine One Bedroom Bungalows all with bathrooms that open up onto your own private terrace. Rooms are adorned with beautiful painted four poster beds and feature a flatscreen TV, DVD player, Bose sound system, minibar and Acqua Di Parma toiletries.

Guests can enjoy breakfast or a light meal on the terrace of the swimming pool, by the bar or on your private patio. For mouthwatering Caribbean cuisine, the African-themed French dining lounge next door, K'Fé Massai, is one of St Barth's finest restaurants and provides rooms service to the hotel.

For the energetic the hotel can arrange boat and car rental and there is a wide range of activities on offer nearby including tennis, fishing, diving and other water sports.

£2,730 per person for 7 nights, based on 2 people sharing a One Bedroom Superior Bungalow on a Bed & Breakfast basis including British Airways inflights and transfers. Island tax is not included and has to be paid locally: 5% on accommodation per room per night.

La Banane features 9 One Bedroom Bungalows (superior and deluxe). Each bungalow has its own bathroom which opens out onto a lush tropical garden or private patio.

Children are welcome but there are no specific facilities except babysitting.

Activities

Complimentary activities include snorkelling and activities at an additional charge include boat and car rental and all other activities available off site. Given the privileged beach location, a wealth of water sports are available right on your doorstep. Land and sea excursions are also available to explore the delights of the island.

When to travel

The best time to travel to St Barths is during our winter months of December to March. The island enjoys a warm, subtropical, although sometimes humid, climate with temperatures moderated by trade winds.

How to get there

Getting to St Barths is a bit of an adventure. From the UK, fly to Antigua with British Airways or Virgin Atlantic and pick up a short inter-island flight with WINAIR or the St Barth Commuter. Transfers from St Barths miniature airport to the hotel take 15 minutes.
