Le Toiny is arguably the most exclusive all-villa hotel in St Barths tucked away on a remote hillside on the south east coast of the island. What most appealed to me are the views here, which are a constant companion whether you are dining at Le Gaiac, the hotels Relais & Chateaux restaurant or lounging beside the pool in your private villa. Each one of the 15 villas has been uniquely styled, with features such as large claw foot bath tubs, mahogany four-poster beds, private heated infinity pool terraces and luxurious furnishings. The villas also feature state-of-the-art Bang and Olufsen equipment, mood lighting and small kitchens crammed full of goodies. There is a small spa but most favoured are in villa Ayurvedic and Asian therapy treatments. The restaurant is located poolside and considered one of the best on the island, no small claim on St Barths known for its fine upscale dining. You can expect creatively presented fine French cuisine and excellent wines delivered by professional and attentive staff. Dining here has its price and you may prefer to savour this moment for a special occasion, after all you are not too far from other fabulous eateries. Be careful not to fill yourself up on the mouth-watering array of canaps pre-dinner - one of the many advantages to being in a French territory. Nothing is too much trouble here and you can even skip the checkout desk and settle your bill in the chauffeured car en route to the airport.
