Montpelier Plantation was restored from an 18th Century sugar plantation and set in a 60-acre estate 750 feet up in the hills of Nevis, the small boutique hotel has 19 rooms, all with sea views and a private beach is a short ride away.
Montpelier Plantation has an excellent restaurant and 17 newly renovated rooms, individually furnished, with views of Mount Nevis and the ocean below. Amenities in the villas include flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations, complimentary WiFi and in-room Nespresso machines. A 300 yr old sugar mill has been converted into spectacular dining setting serving sumptuous Caribbean cuisine and the indulgent spa offers an array of massages, body treatments and facials. Private sessions of yoga, Pilates and meditation are also available on request to revitalise mind, body and soul.
A complimentary shuttle takes guests to a private beach which offers a new restaurant, comfy seating and shady beach cabanas, or for the more energetic you can explore the rain forests, mountain bike around the island or go horseback riding. Childcare
Children over 4 years old are welcome, but there are no specific facilities. Children will love snorkelling off Pinney's Beach where you catch glimpses of colourful parrotfish and damselfish. Or you can venture to the neighbouring island of St Kitts for a rainforest safari of Mt Liamuiga.

When to travel
Winter days average a temperature of 27°C while summers shoot up to a still respectable 30°C. Annual rainfall averages 55in and is fairly consistent throughout the year. The driest months are February to June, and the hurricane (and rainy) season is July to November, although even during this period the weather can be gorgeous. How to get there
Fly to St. Kitts or Nevis. From St. Kitts a Montpelier representative will meet you at the airport upon your arrival and assist with the ferry transfer to Nevis. There are two ferry options to Nevis: private/semi-private water taxi or the public ferry. Arriving in Nevis is easy, simply walk out of the airport and take a waiting taxi to Montpelier. Enjoy a short drive along the coastal road to Montpelier (25 minutes).
