Description
Geejam is an ‘über trendy’ escape located in San San, close to Port Antonio. Nestled in the heart of the jungle, this Island Outpost property achieves a stylish equilibrium between ultra modern technology and the natural landscape. There are seven double rooms, consisting of three deluxe one-bedroom villas, one suite, and a self-contained three-bedroom villa, strategically positioned so as to preserve all the trees and shrubbery around them in an eco-friendly fashion. Their rustic, forest-blending exteriors combine well with the modern contemporary interiors and digital amenities. You will also find a state-of-the-art recording studio, spa, gym and the Bushbar, serving a mix of Jamaican and Japanese dishes.
Geejam sits amongst several stunning beaches including the infamous Frenchman’s Cove, voted by Condé Nast as one of the world’s top five beaches, and the equally enchanting Blue Lagoon. A ten-minute drive west will find you in the historic town of Port Antonio home to the Errol Flynn marina; it boasts a thriving hub of local culture, with a varied nightlife, including Ska bars, Reggae sound-systems and nightclubs. When to travel
Jamaica is a year-round destination, though there are seasonal differences to consider. Weather-wise, temperature isn’t an important factor: winter is usually warm by day and mild to cool by night, and summer months are hot. The rainy season extends from May to November, with peaks in May, June, October and November. Rain usually falls for short periods (normally in the late afternoon), and it’s quite possible to enjoy sunshine for most of your visit during these months. However, note that in Portland parish, it can rain for days on end.
Tourism’s high, or ‘winter, ’ season runs from early-December to mid-April.
