Bonaire is a small island located in the stunningly beautiful southern Caribbean, 50 miles north of Venezuela, and forms part of the ABC islands together with Aruba and Curacao. With fabulous beaches and lots of watersports, it’s a great choice for those keen to completely relax, but mix in some activity too, especially the underwater kind. Bonaire is world-renowned for its excellent scuba diving and is consistently rated amongst the top shore diving destinations in the world. This underwater paradise is home to more than 300 species of fish which flourish in its crystal clear waters. Bonaire is also one of the world’s premier bone fishing destinations. Scott Dunn’s highlights for the Dutch Antilles:

  • When dining in the evening, take a private dinner by candlelight on one of the Dutch Antilles stunning beaches.
  • For diving enthusiasts, be sure to explore Bonaire’s well-preserved coral reefs. Its southern and western coasts are fringed with reefs that act as a marine sanctuary, protecting its abundant sea-life that ranges from sea horses to Lionfish. Alternatively head to Curaçao, with its impressive “blue edge” drop-off.
