The fantastic island retreat is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The Sandpiper and its sister hotel, the Coral Reef Club, are the only family owned and managed luxury resorts on the island. Sandpiper is located on the exclusive west coast on the long white sandy bay of St James. There are 47 beautifully furnished garden rooms and one or two bedroom suites, all with private terraces as well as two stunning new Treetop Suites with private pools.
The Sandpiper features one of the island's most popular restaurants serving mouthwatering Caribbean cuisine and there is also Harrold's Beach Bar. The spa, set in lush tropical gardens, can be found at the Coral Reef Club and features a luxurious 'open sided' Relaxation Room, an outdoor hydro-pool with shaded cabanas, a Thermal Suite with a serene Crystal Steam Room and Experience Shower and a Spa Lounge offering secluded relaxation.
A wide range of activities are available including water sports and tennis, and guests can also enjoy the facilities of nearby Coral Reef Club. Sandpiper is also a six-minute walk from Holetown, where there are many restaurants, bars and shops.

Rooms and suites at the Sandpiper have either garden, pool or sea views. Classifications include Garden Rooms, One Bedroom Suites, Two Bedroom Suites and Tree Top Suites with pool.
Childcare
Children are welcome all year round at the hotel except from 15 Jan to 15 Mar. There is an unsupervised playground for children up to the age of 10 yrs. Crèche (1400 – 1630 Monday to Friday) 2 to 8 year olds. Babysitting can also be arranged.

Facilities at the hotel include a fresh water swimming pool, 2 tennis courts, restaurant, bar, crèche, and access to the hairdressing salon and health and beauty shop at The Coral Reef Club.

Complimentary activities include use of the fresh water swimming pool, tennis, fitness centre, windsurfing, snorkelling, water skiing, kayaking, Hobie Cat and sunfish sailing. The summer family programme (01 Jul to 18 Aug) offers complimentary sailing, swimming and tennis lessons.
Activities at an additional charge include use of the Sandy Lane Golf course, scuba diving and deep sea fishing.

Children’s menu available and baby food on request. Guests can stay on a Bed and Breakfast basis or on a Half Board basis. Weekly manager’s cocktail party and live entertainment in the evenings.

In July, the average daily high is 30°C (86°F), while the average low is 23°C (74°F). February to May are the driest months (April averages only seven days of rain), while July is the wettest month with some 18 days of rain.
The tourist high season runs from mid-December through mid-April. June through October is the hurricane season: September and October are the most humid months and have the highest hurricane risk – although many years see none.

Additional notes
Children at The Sandpiper No children under the age of 12 yrs accepted from January 15 March. Children under the age of 5 years are not allowed in the dining room or lounge after 7:00 p.m. Children’s supper served between 1800 and 1930. Children under 16 yrs cannot occupy a room alone.
