Pink Sands overlooks a breathtaking 3 mile pink sand beach on quaint Harbour Island, just 50 miles east of Nassau.
The hotel has 25 pastel-coloured one and two bedroom cottages scattered throughout the lush tropical gardens, each with large living areas and private sun terraces. Rooms are equipped with king size beds, air conditioning, cable TV, DVD, Bose iPod docking stations and Tassimo coffee makers. Bimini Cottage also has its own private Jacuzzi, perfect for enjoying the sunset overlooking one of the most famous beaches in the world.
The renowned main restaurant and bar are designed in an eclectic mixture of Moroccan, Balinese and Indian styles, while the beachside Blue Bar, serving light lunches and drinks, hits a more Caribbean note. The hotel also features a swimming pool, two tennis courts, exercise studio and massages can be arranged on request. Off-site activities include bone fishing, reef fishing, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling and excursions to the beautiful Eleuthera Island, the birthplace of the Bahamas. All in all, the atmosphere is very laid back and exclusive.

Children are welcome at Pink Sands but there are no specific facilities except babysitting. Attractions in the Bahamas include the Ardastra Gardens and Conservation Centre for forest walks, canals and Caribbean wildlife and great for a picnic. Children can go swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Encounters or visit the Pirates of Nassau Museum on board a replica ship. Other fun activities include horse riding, water sports and boat trips around the island.

When to travel
The temperature in The Bahamas averages between 75°F and 85°F (24°C-29°C) in both winter and summer, although it can get chilly in the early morning and at night. The Bahamian winter is usually like a perpetual late spring. Summer brings broiling hot sun and humidity. The hurricane season, lasts (officially) from June 1 to November 30. But there is no cause for panic. Hurricanes are actually fairly infrequent here, and when one does come, satellite forecasts generally give adequate advance warning so that precautions can be taken.

Pink Sands Resort is located on Harbour Island, part of the Out Islands of the Bahamas, is a 20-acre haven set by the edge of the famous three-mile pink sands beach. Harbour island, 50 miles east of Nassau, 20min from North Eleuthera International Airport by land and water taxi.
How to get there
The nearest airport is North Eleuthera international (ELH). British Airways flies direct London to Nassau (10 hours), then its a 20 minute charter flights from Nassau to North Eleuthera. A Pink Sands representative will greet hotel guests upon arrival at the airport and escort them from the North Eleuthera Airport to the hotel. The trip involves taking a 15 minute taxi ride to the dock, a 5 minute water taxi across to Harbour Island and then another 15 minute taxi ride to Pink Sands.
