Lusaka and central Zambia

Lusaka is the buzzing capital city of Zambia, and to the west of Lusaka and southwest of the Copperbelt is Kafue, a wondefully unspoilt gem in the heart of Zambia. Kafue is an enormous area of floodplain and forest, dissected by rivers including the Kafue, the Lunga and the Lufupa. This area is home to a proliferation of plains game, including roan, sable, and oribi which are uncommon elsewhere. The Busanga Plains is a 750-square km area of floodplain in the north of Kafue and is known for its wonderful birding.
