This family run hotel has a lovely welcoming charm to it. The beautiful gardens are a perfect place to have long breakfasts under the orange trees or sitting and relaxing by the pool. The rooms are large and spacious all equipped in a colonial theme with port and sherry offered on a complimentary basis. Rooms are decorated with earthy African colours combine with the warm wooden features of an old Victorian Manor House. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, minbars and bathrooms with inviting Victorian stand alone baths.
There is also a spa beautifully positioned in the garden offering massages and other treatments. River Manor is well equipped for children with rooms next to one and another and babysitting can be arranged. There is also a spa offering a range of treatments and therapies using products derived from the natural goodness of grape extract which has many health benefits and not only for the skin.
The shops and restaurants of Stellenbosch are a short walk away. The river Manor is well located to explore the Western Cape, the Winelands with its long list of stunning vineyards and some of the best wine tasting in the country. Other activities in the area include mountain biking, fly fishing and golf.

When to travel
The Winelands are a wonderful year-round destination and enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, somewhat like the South of France, which is what makes the area perfect for grape-growing. Summer is the reverse of the Northern hemisphere. The best season visit is September to March when it is hot, sunny and dry. From April to August it cools down with some rain.

How to get there
12 hour international flight to Cape Town International Airport. River Manor is some 60km from the city of Cape Town and an easy 40 min drive from Cape Town International Airport. Transfers can be arranged by the hotel.
