Step outside your door and be in the thick of the action, or retreat to the wrap-around infinity pool on the hotels private deck that leads out from the bar which is ideal for sunbathing during the day and by night offers a very cool spot to enjoy an evening cocktail.

Accommodation

Pod has a variety of rooms from Mountain Rooms, Classic Rooms, Luxury Rooms, Luxury Rooms with private plunge pools and Deluxe Suites.

All the rooms feature similar interiors and design however the Mountain Rooms have a view of 12 Apostles and Table Mountain, Classic Rooms have a balcony with the same views, Luxury Rooms have either a balcony with a view of Camps Bay Beach or a private plunge pool and Deluxe Suites are the largest of rooms, with a wraparound balcony and rain shower for two.

Childcare

There are no specific child care facilities at Pod, however, a concertina door can be used to separate two bedrooms from the main corridor to create a two bedroom suite which is ideal of families.

Facilities

The facilities on site at the hotel include a wraparound infinity pool, residents bar, underground parking and a beach service whereby umbrellas, deck chairs and towels are set-up for you at the beach. Each floor in the hotel features a mini-lounge with Nespresso Coffee Machines and televisions.

Activities

There are numerous activities available in and around Cape Town from whale watching to tours of Robben Island, wine tasting and visits to vineyards or golf, water sports or hiking up Table Mountain. The staff at Pod have all the relevant local knowledge to help in booking or arranging activities to suit each guest.

When to travel

Year-round destination. The summers are generally warm and dry, while winters tend to be wet and cool, the rains brought on by fierce north westerly gales. Neither season experiences extremes of temperature, thanks to prevailing winds. Summer (Nov-Mar) is the hottest with temperatures 20-40°C. Mid season (Apr, May, Sep, Oct) temps between 10-30°C. Winter (from June- Aug) is the low season with temps 0-25°C.

How to get there

11-hours 50-minute British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Cape Town International Airport. It is then a 35-minute drive to the hotel. Pod can arrange transfers should you request or there are plenty of taxis in and around the hotel.
