Constantia Uitsig offers gracious seclusion for the discerning traveller. With 16 individually appointed garden rooms, guests are assured of personal attention and Cape hospitality in a rural setting. All rooms are equipped with mini bars, tea/coffee-making facilities, home-made biscuits, dressing gowns, underfloor-heating, individual patios, TV and telephone. The house is set in the midst of working vineyards with three superb restaurants, a swimming pool and a charming cricket pitch.
Guests are able to relax, rejuvenate and restore mind, body and soul in the hotel's spa where they offer a comprehensive range of treatments and therapies are on offer. It is the only spa in South Africa to offer ‘Les Aromes du Vin’, a body treatment based on the aromatic components of fine wines!
Visits to local vineyards and day trips to Cape Point Nature Reserve are all popular excursions from Constantia. Cape Town and Franschhoek are just 15 and 50 minutes away by car respectively. Among the three excellent restaurants on the estate are Constantia Uitsig and La Colombe, popular with the visitors and locals alike, both are rated among South Africa’s top 10.
Accommodation
Accommodation is in 16 rooms, there are five different types of suites: six Garden Twin Rooms, five Victorian Rooms, two Manor Suites, two Family Rooms and one Superior Suite. All the rooms have views of the hotel's peaceful landscaped gardens. The cottages are beautifully appointed with their own verandahs. The generous rooms all have en suite bathrooms with marble finishes.
Childcare
Although there are no specific child care facilities, children are welcome at Constantia Uitsig. Meal times and food can easily be adjusted to suite younger guests and babysitting can be arranged when needed.
Facilities
Set amongst the peaceful gardens guests can use the swimming pool or watch cricket on the delightful cricket pitch in the grounds. There are 3 excellent award-winning restaurants to choose from plus a wine shop, steam and treatment rooms.
Activities
The Constantia Uitsig offers a range of spa treatments, there is also an opportunity to do some wine tasting and have a tour of the estate. Alternatively, Cape Town city centre, V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain cable car are all about half an hour away while Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, a state of the art gym and Cavendish Mall are also on the doorstep. The famous sandy beaches of Clifton, Camps Bay, Llandudno and Hout Bay are all within easy reach too, while more than a dozen golf courses are to be found within half an hour’s drive.
When to travel
Year-round destination. The summers are generally warm and dry, while winters tend to be wet and cool, the rains brought on by fierce north westerly gales. Neither season experiences extremes of temperature, thanks to prevailing winds. Summer (Nov-Mar) is the hottest with temperatures 20-40°C. Mid season (Apr, May, Sep, Oct) temps between 10-30°C. Winter (from June- Aug) is the low season with temps 0-25°C.

11-hours 50-minute British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Cape Town International Airport. The airport is a 25-minute drive from the hotel.
