Description
Situated along the Southern Mozambique Coast within 30 000 hectares of pristine marine and wildlife territory in the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary, Dugong Beach Lodge combines two biospheres which make for a unique wilderness and beach experience.
There are ten spacious air-conditioned chalets under thatched canopies with hardwood floors, en-suite bathrooms overlooking a private courtyard, each with a walkway to the beach and a private sala and daybed. In addition, there are now also two villas housing two bedrooms each with a private swimming pool.
Guests can spend their days either enjoying the tranquil surroundings or taking advantage of the numerous activities on offer, including salt water fly fishing, deep sea fishing, snorkelling, sailing, picnics, pedal boats and kayaks. Swimming around the pier at high tide is a great place to spot the resident colourful fish. Many guests have also been known to spot dolphins while sailing from the beach in front of the lodge!
The nearby shallow and deep water reefs reveal beautiful sea creatures such as great and leatherback turtles, sailfish and manta rays. There is a very laid back atmosphere, and as there are no set times for meals, guests can begin their days as early or late as they choose.
