Ksar Char Bagh is a stunning, extravagant and sophisticated hotel designed as a palace and set in 4 hectares of gardens and beautiful citrus orchards in the Palmeraie area of Marrakech. The decor and styling here is superb, and this chic, calm palatial property is big on attention to detail - everything has been designed by the owners from the individually crafted furniture to the hand carved silver door keys.
The hotel has just 12 expansive suites (the smallest of which is 750 square feet), all with either a private garden or roof terrace. All have large sitting rooms with fireplaces, dressing rooms and indulgent sunken marble baths. There is also an apartment at the top of the hotel with its own enormous roof terrace and private swimming pool. All of the rooms are individually designed and minimally decorated with calming pale colours and Moroccan influences throughout.
Ksar Char Bagh is a chic retreat from Marrakech and offers guests two heated pools, a marble hammam, tennis, fantastic freshly prepared cuisine and 45 staff for its 24 guests. Should you wish to venture out from this oasis, Marrakech with its buzzing, hectic medina and souks is a mere 6km away, and golf, horse riding, mountain biking and the fascinating foothills of the Atlas Mountains are all easily accessible from the hotel.

Accommodation
The 12 traditional Harim Suites are located off the main courtyard with its fountain pools. Each Harim (meaning private apartment within a palace) has a large bedroom, sitting room with fireplace, sunken marble bath, dressing room and a large private terrace or garden. High vaulted ceilings, marble floors and tadelakt walls ensure that the rooms are all cool as well as spacious and very private. The apartment is bigger still and has its own private pool on the terrace.
Childcare
Ksar Char Bagh is a very luxurious and private hideaway hotel and is therefore only suitable for children over the age of eight. Babysitting and children's meals can be arranged but there are no other specific facilities for children other than use of the swimming pool, tennis court, petanque and billiards facilities.
Facilities
Each day the fabulous French chef serves a different kind of breakfast in your harim, on the terrace or in the gardens, often using fresh produce from the hotel's own garden. Lunch and dinner are served by the pool or wherever the mood takes you. Ksar Char Bagh has two swimming pools, a tennis court, billiards room, petanque, library with over 1000 books and 200 DVDs, fumoir with hundreds of cigars, gym and huge vaulted hammam as well as indulgent massage and treatment rooms.

Activities at Ksar Char Bagh include tennis, swimming and enjoying the hammam and spa. Closeby are three magnificent golf courses, horse riding and only 6km away is Marrakech's medina with the bustling souks and magical Djemaa El Fna.
When to travel
Weather-wise, the best times to go are spring and autumn. Marrakesh is very hot in the summer months of July and August, a dry but extremely relentless heat. By the end of October the evenings are cold, although the midday sun is still warm enough to bask in. The weather in winter, from November to March, ranges from cold and rainy to sunny days, warm enough to sit outside.
