Description

Dating back 5,000 years, Cairo is Africa's largest city, with a population of 18 million people sprawled across the city on either side of the Nile. The immense diversity within Cairo is staggering, with ancient monuments and modern skyscrapers standing side by side. The Four Seasons First Residence is ideally located to take in all of his, its downtown west bank position allows views of the Great Pyramids from the heart of the city's buzzing financial district.

Located in a 20-storey tower, The Four Seasons First Residence has 269 guest rooms including 43 suites with views over The Nile, pool and the pyramids. All of the spacious rooms are decorated in soothing hues of gold, reds and greens with majestic empire-style furnishings and luxury marble bathrooms. The rooms are classically styled, immensely luxurious and have every amenity that one could wish for.

Although Cairo has some world class dining, the three restaurants at the hotel are excellent and offer guests a range of the finest cuisine from Europe, Asia and the Middle East. There is also a relaxed tea lounge and an atmospheric library bar with everything from cognac and cigars to sushi on offer. Like all aspects of the hotel, wherever you choose to dine, the settings are exquisite and the service second to none.

When not out exploring Cairo, The Four Seasons has two swimming pools, a fabulous spa and wellness centre with gym and can arrange golf, tennis, sailing and horse riding off site.

Accommodation

The hotel has 269 Guest Rooms and Suites. The 32 Standard Rooms have floor to ceiling picture windows overlooking the Botanical Gardens, comfy seating areas and are light, comfortable and stylish. The 40 Superior Rooms are a similar size but some have views of the Pyramids and The Nile. The 72 Deluxe Rooms are larger and on higher floors, and the 82 Premier Rooms offer even higher levels of space and comfort. There are 18 Executive Suites which have separate living areas with sofa beds and substantial desks. Other suites include 22 One-bedroom suites with spacious living/dining areas and private terraces. The 2 Nile Suites, 4 Presidential Suites and 2 Royal Suites all have 3 bedrooms, full kitchens and their exceptional views, space and facilities ooze decadence. All rooms throughout the hotel have a TV/CD/DVD player, internet access and gorgeous marble bathrooms with soaking tubs and separate enclosed showers.

Childcare

Four Seasons are renowned for their excellent service and facilities for families and children are greeted with their own bathrobes, toiletries and amenities in the room. There are children's menus in the restaurants and equipment such as cots, highchairs, pushchairs, bottle warmers, nappies, wipes and baby bath products are all available on a complimentary basis as are games, colouring books, DVDs etc. There is a children's swimming pool and babysitting is available on request.

Facilities

Fabulous food is served in stunning settings at Aura, Lai Thai and Seasons which serve Lebanese, Thai and Italian cuisine respectively. The Tea Lounge is a great place for light meals and the Library Bar serves sushi and is a cosy setting for a cocktail overlooking the Nile. The hotel has 2 open air swimming pools (one for children) and there are 2 fully equipped gyms at the state of the art wellness centre (one mixed, one women only) which is also home to Swedish saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and an indulgent spa with numerous holistic treatments designed to relax and revive.

Activities

Within the hotel, enjoying the swimming pools, fitness facilities and spa are a great way to spend a day and for those wanting to relax, board games, CDs, DVDs and play station games (& equipment) can be borrowed. Excursions with superb guides can be arranged to Cairo's many historical sights and golf, horse riding tennis and sailing on The Nile can all be arranged by the activity concierge.
