Description
Fregate is a uniquely peaceful setting of verdant, tropical interiors and abundant nature fringed by seven dream beaches, each a brilliant sweep of powdery white sand dotted with giant, iconic granite boulders. The preservation, protection and nurture of its unique flora and fauna has always been - and continues to be - a fundamental raison d'être for Frégate Island Private. With only 16 villas and one Presidential Villa, guests are invited to experience the rare luxuries of space, security and seclusion within a tropical island setting of exuberant natural beauty.
Fregate Island is a stunningly peaceful setting of tropical interiors and abundant nature. All the villas have an exceptional level of comfort and privacy, and the service is impeccable - nothing is too much trouble. Each villa has a living room, large bedroom and two bathrooms, with showers inside and out. The large private sundecks are furnished with king-size sun beds, carved pool armchairs and a table for dining al fresco. A wooden staircase leads down to a private jacuzzi with unforgettable views of the Indian Ocean.
Fregate’s beaches are among the most beautiful in the world for swimming, snorkelling, diving, sailing and fishing. The island can be explored along the coast or through the jungle, and a fresh water pool is centrally located between the villas and integrated into a natural rock basin. Other facilities include the Rock Spa perched on a cliff-top plateau overlooking the sea and two restaurants which serve fresh produce grown on the island. Take advantage of a bespoke dining experience - anything, anytime, anywhere, from dinner in the Tree House to a private beach barbecue.
Weaving through the tropical jungle interior and along the sweeping island coastline there are numerous sun-dappled walking paths and nature trails, guests can explore the abundant beauty of Frégate Island Private either at their own pace or accompanied by one of the ecologists, and interact with its spectacular living athenaeum of flora and fauna: a modern day Noah’s Ark. Savour a spellbinding panorama of paradise upon Mont Signal, an imposing 125-metre granite peak… Behold the sight of the island’s most famous inhabitant, the Seychelles-Shama Thrush, commonly called the Magpie Robin… Listen to the glorious musical improvisations of the Seychelles Blue Pigeon. Safari through lush forests of extraordinary Coco der Mer palms and giant Banyan trees. Encounter magnificent Aldabra giant tortoises, roaming the dense undergrowth and swampy terrain; the unique tenebrionid beetle, only found on Frégate’s soil; and the Seychelles terrapin.

When to travel
Situated just south of the equator, the Seychelles have a warm tropical climate. The consistently warm tropical weather makes the Seychelles a good year round destination.
There is little fluctuation in warmth, with temperatures ranging from 24C to 31C all year round. From May to October a southeast trade wind can bring marginally cooler weather and fresh breezes. From November to March the northwest monsoon wind blows, typically raising temperature and humidity. December and January are the wettest months, but the rain falls in short sharp bursts before the sun comes out again.
