East Coast

Like the south, the East coast faces the southeast trade winds, which prevail almost all year round and make the climate slightly cooler in the summer months. It’s on the east coast of Mauritius that you’ll find one the biggest lagoons on the island. In most places, these lagoons are shallow with deep canals, generating hundreds of different sparkling greens and blues on sunny days. No luxury holiday to the east coast would be complete without a trip to the islet of “Ile aux Cerfs” located in the lagoon of "Trou d'eau Douce", which boasts a magnificent golf course and many restaurants.
