Ngong House is a private homestead stay situated in the Langata area of Nairobi, only a few minutes away from the house where Karen Blixen once had her coffee farm. Situated in 10 acres of private land with stunning bush views, out to the Ngong Hills.

Made entirely of wood and grass, the tree-houses, built 15ft above the ground, are on two levels, with a separate bedroom and living area, and large terraces offering uninterrupted views of the Ngong Hills. The interiors are designed with extreme comfort in mind, and have a decidedly rustic feel, with the talents of regional artists adding many of the finishing touches. Original, stylish accommodation, exquisite, gourmet food, and warm hospitality ensure a fantastically memorable stay in Kenya’s capital city.

When to travel
Although Nairobi is situated in the middle of East Africa, its high altitude—about a mile above sea level—means that the city's climate is mild year-round. Summer months in Nairobi are December through March, Winter months, June through to September. The wettest months are in the Autumn, from March through June. April sees upwards of 8 inches of rain on average. Cloudy, rainy days are common in the Autumn. October through December is the region's second rainy season, where "short rains" bring about 5 inches of rain to the area in November. Otherwise rainfall is pretty scarce, about two inches a month. February sees the most sunshine in Nairobi, with about ten hours of daylight.
