Description
Hemingways Resort is a luxury resort hotel in an unrivalled Kenyan setting on the white sands of Watamu Bay, where the crystal waters form one of Kenya’s finest stretches of beach. It is an area of great beauty, from the coral reefs to the ruins of ancient Gede.
The hotel has 68 luxury bedrooms and six private suites. The beach is lovely and there is a fantastic range of watersports activities on offer while the bar is high on atmosphere. Hemingway’s is renowned for its excellent game fishing as it is the ideal spot for big game fishing trips owing to the profusion of species in the Indian Ocean, with black, blue and striped marlin, sailfish and broad-billed swordfish. Salt-water fly fishing and light line fishing are all available.
And for those who fish, the Chefs will prepare your catch exactly as you would like it. You migh like Japanese style sashimi, finely sliced with soya sauce and wasabi or maybe blackened Cajun style fillets, or simply steamed! Which ever way, you will never eat fish fresher than this.

The rainy season on the Kenyan Coast is generally May/June. So from July onward the weather is gradually getting hotter and dryer until March/April when it reaches the high 90's (over40 degrees C). Christmas/New Year is generally considered the peak season and the weather is lovely then with constant sunshine and gentle off shore breezes. If you want clear seas for diving then make your trip after August/Sept.
