Nicaragua
Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America but also one of the least explored. Bordering Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south Nicaragua is a land of striking beauty from tropical rain forests, rugged highlands, remote beaches and fertile plains to the largest lake in Central America, Lake Nicaragua. About half of Nicaragua’s territory consists of the eastern lowlands, known as the Mosquito Coast, which extend 40 miles inland from the Caribbean. Nicaragua has no shortage of attractions with volcanoes to climb, rainforests to hike brimming with wildlife and colourful, colonial cities to explore. The Pacific beaches are unspoiled and a haven for surfers, while the markets offer colourful arts and crafts.Suggested itineraries
