Havana

Havana is the largest and most vibrant city in the Caribbean. Founded in 1514, it has some of the finest colonial architecture in the Americas. At its heart lies beautiful Habana Vieja, the original walled town which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. Old Havana’s cobbled streets burst with churches, palaces, museums and galleries. The political centre of Havana focuses on the gigantic Revolution Square in Vedado, site of many rallies. A 142 metre high memorial to Jose Marti - the freedom fighter and Cuba’s national hero - is the highest point in the city and has fantastic views.
